Samsung S6 Edge

The 5.1 inch powerhouse device was launch in 2015 and the first device from Samsung that sports a curve screen (which gives it the name, Edge). I have been using it for 1.5 years and absolutely loves it. However my mobile line contract is due for renewal hence I decided to upgrade to Samsung S8.

The condition of my S6 Edge is in fantastic shape – no lagging, decent battery life that can last me from morning till I reach home at night (around 9pm) with in-between charging in the office. It is running on Android 7.0 (Nougat).

The physical condition of the phone is exceptionally good consider that it is about 1.5 years old. It was always protected by casing and in fact the plastic sheet on the back is still intact.

As seen from the above, there is no dent or scratch on the 4 corners of the phone.

However, there is a crack at the home button which also serves as the finger print sensor. This is a mystery to me because the crack just appear one day and I have absolutely no idea how it came about. However it did not affect the sensitivity of the button and the finger print.

Last but no least, the device comes with the first generation wireless charging dock (hence do not expect first charging) and the power plug and ear piece which are brand new.

Hope to find a good home for this excellent device.

Puzzles, puzzles and more puzzles!

It is generally accepted that puzzles are an important tools for toddlers and children as they have many benefits such as;

  • Problem solving
  • Fine motor skills development
  • Hands and eye coordination
  • Develop learning and problem solving abilities.

Therefore it’s no wonder my better half invested a huge amount of money buying various puzzles for our kids.

Dinosaurs galore!

Long, long time ago one of our boys was crazy over dinosaurs. Our place was filled with dinosaurs stuff – toys, DVDs, books etc. It was also the time when Toy r us had a lot of Dinosaurs Train products from Jim Henson. As a result our place got lots of books about dinosaurs, from encyclopedia to books with pop-up pictures.

Takara Tomy Collection

Die cast cars and figures have always looks good, I mean it’s colourful, often comes with a theme like Disney, Star Wars etc. We came across some really cool ones during our holiday trips to Hong Kong and Japan. Took the plunge to buy them (they are not cheap!).

Star Wars – Japan

These were purchased from 7-11 and after getting the realised it’s quite limited as you do not find them in retail shops like Toy R Us.

From what we understand this is one type of stormtrooper but not the regular white ones. They are called the Shadow stormtrooper.

We think this vehicle here needs no introduction right? It’s Darth Vader himself pulling a truck 😀.

Last but not least is the greenish R2-D2. Dun ask me why they come in green, maybe because 7-11 corporate colour is green? Nonetheless this is quite a cool piece.

Star wars – Hong Kong

We came across two figures from Hong Kong which has a “Not for sale” message printed on the box. Needless to say we grab them immediately. True enough these are quite rare, at least based on what we see in Carousel Singapore.

The Shadow stormtrooper is in die cast material, fully black and comes with a weapon. Likewise the R2-D2 is also in die cast material.

Overall we find it quite fun and interesting to acollect these figures and vehicles. It is inexpensive and gives you another objective when travelling. We will continue to lookout for cool stuff and post here, please keep a lookout!

Mamalove twin stroller

After we had our third child it became inevitable that we need to upgrade their current “ride” – from a single stroller to a twin one. We did some research and was going to give up the idea. Mainly because of two factors – cost and mobility. We are keen to get one that is not built like a tank and not costly (less than $500). And both does not come hand in hand.

However we chanced upon this particular twin stroller while doing some window shopping in a mall. It has a good price tag, sturdy and good size.

As you can see from above the stroller has large seats front and back. It has “shelter” for both “passengers” to provide some shade in our sunny island. In addition it has wheel locks for both rear wheels to prevent any mishap when stationary on slopes.

The best part which we like is the ease of use which should be the same as most parents. The stroller only takes 3 steps – unlock the stopper, spread the stroller and lock it.

Last but not least, did we mention the price is very reasonable? Well, we need to say it again. It’s much lesser than our budget of 500 bucks.

We now hope that it can find a new home to someone that needs it.

Disney’s Wonderful World Of Knowledge

Just realised we have a whole collection of Disney’s encyclopaedia lying in the house!

Apparently this is an updated and enlarged English version of one printed in Italian language by this company – Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, Milan since 1973 (older than me!) This version that we have is printed in 1989! Not sure if there is such things as “vintage book collection”, maybe this can be consider as one?

There are 25 books in this collection and we are amazed at the condition! Other than some yellowing on some pages, the binding are still very strong and no loose pages. Seems the book printing way back in 1980s are much better or perhaps these books were never read.

Do let us know if anyone is interested in being the new owner of these vintage books.
